It was truly a pleasure for Dirt Dojo to host the IMBA ICP (Instructor Certification Program) Level 1 Ride Guide course here in Austin, Texas, over the three days from February 28th through March 1st. This event sold out with 14 participants, with two coming from as far away as Monterrey, Mexico, and Frederick, Maryland.
Our instructors for the three day event were Shaums March (ICP Master Coach; 2x UCI Downhill World Champion) from Bellingham, Washington, and Jason Liebrecht from San Diego, California. It was an invigorating but intense three days as students learned how to effectively lead and guide rides, as well as assess and teach some fundamental bike handling. Students then had to lead/guide rides, as well as perform a pre tour skills assessment while being evaluated by our instructors.
Dirt Dojo is also hosting the IMBA ICP Level 2 Basic Skills certification course in Austin from March 20th - 23rd. We can't wait for the participants to take their bike handling and instructing skills to the next level!
